This small knife painting reflects the turmoil I experienced during the first months after we moved across the country in September 2023. I was in an artistic slump and becoming anxious about how long it was taking me to get back into a painting routine. Focusing entirely on the shapes and values of light peering through the forest, I sat in the rain and emotionally let go on this canvas.
